Claus Bolza-Schünemann was born on June 11, 1956 in Würzburg and is married with four children. After qualifying as a radio and television technician he took a degree in electrical and digital technology at Darmstadt University in 1984.

Project engineer designing hardware and software for pressroom equipment at Brown Boveri & Cie. (BBC, later Asea Brown Boveri, or ABB) in Baden, Switzerland 

1986

Head of BBC´s multi-unit press line project management for various European newspaper publishers 

1989

Head of the electrical planning and engineering division for web, sheetfed and security presses at Koenig & Bauer 

1992

Deputy executive vice president engineering and development

Full member of the board in charge of engineering and project management

Deputy president of Koenig & Bauer, with remit expanded from engineering and project management to include human resources management
