Monprint and Rotographik upgrade with Compactas

Monprint and Industrias Rotographik have affirmed their faith in KBA technology with contracts for Compacta commercial presses. Rotographik’s choice, a 32-page Compacta 418, will come on stream in January 2007, Monprint will take delivery of an identical 418 and a 16-page Compacta 215 later that same quarter.

Monprint is a joint venture enterprise established in 2004 by Industrias Gráficas Printone and SOFIEX (Sociedad de Fomento Industrial de Extremadura). It has two main business lines, commercial and customised products with special finishes. To sustain growth in the long term the companies have invested in a new joint production plant in Plasencia, some 250 kilometres (156 miles) west of Madrid, where construction work is now in full swing. Printone started up in 1991 and is a web offset specialist with one 16-page and three 32-page presses to its name. At present its production plant in Valdemoro, near Madrid, prints over 200 titles.
