I know from my own experience running a busy pressroom that you simply cannot afford to take everything you're told by suppliers at face value. One supplier – a household name in the industry, even a 'blue-chip' you might say – assured me the waste materials they were removing as part of our purchasing agreement were being disposed of ethically. But on inspection I found they didn't have any accreditation for transporting or recycling and this put in jeopardy my company's ISO status. 

That is why I have put transparency at the centre of everything we are doing at KBA as we build our premium consumables service.Our commitment to you, our customer, is to research, test and qualify the full range of proprietary products to identify those that will allow you to achieve the optimum performance from your KBA presses in terms of quality, consistency and value. 

Integral to this is our Environmental Policy and the KBA consumables strategy to provide a full audit trail from supply through to recycling containers for chemicals and solvents.  

We are able to supply solvent, alcohol and chemicals in KBA-sized containers that can be collected and then refilled ready for delivery with the next order. This helps you to conform to the very tight ISO 12647-2. Environmental Standard. Anything you can do to reduce the waste containers going to landfill is a big step forward in achieving the ISO goals. Decanting from 1,000 liter IBC’s is again not ideal as it is very labour intensive to fill the containers and also increases the risk of spillage. 

Companies need to be sure that their suppliers can provide all of the documentation to prove the used containers are being handled by approved licensed couriers... and when you deal with us at KBA UK, you know you have that assurance.
